Gene Kelly directs this farcical romantic comedy starring Walter Matthau as a married man who is considering cheating on his wife. After being persuaded by best friend Ed Stander (Robert Morse) that being unfaithful will help keep his marriage strong, Paul Manning (Matthau) develops a wandering eye. While receiving guidance from Ed, Paul becomes ever-closer to betraying his wife Ruth (Inger Stevens). The film features a number of cameo appearances from stars including Lucille Ball, Jack Benny, Jayne Mansfield, Terry-Thomas and Phil Silvers.
