Comedy crime drama from director Steven Soderberg starring Matt Damon and Scott Bakula, based on the true story told in the best-selling book by Kurt Eichenwald . Mark Whitacre (Damon) was a high flier in a hugely successful agricultural foods company, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), who, along with other senior employees, engaged in price fixing until he decided to turn informer for the FBI, gathering evidence against the corrupt company. Whitacre agreed to wear a wire and take recordings, all under the misguided impression that he would emerge from the investigation as the good guy. However, the FBI gradually learn that their star informer – and the key to their whole case – has not fully disclosed his own suspect dealings and it becomes increasingly difficult for them to determine if Whitacre is being truthful.
