Self-help motivation preacher Jack Corcoran (Bill Murray) believes his father to be long-dead, and so is shocked when he receives news that he has only recently passed away. His legacy is a huge financial debt and an elephant named Vera – it transpires that Jack’s father was a circus clown. Jack must now transport Vera halfway across America to ensure a sale which will pay off the debt.
